🌀EARLY LOOK AT HURRICANE SEASON | We’re still 3 months from the start but I like what I’m seeing in the forecast so far. We should be on our way to less impacts than usual this year! Here’s why. 1) El Nino. El Nino brings more wind shear, which rips hurricanes apart. Whether it’s a “moderate” or “strong” El Nino isn’t known yet but either is good news for us. 2) This map here. The European season forecast model shows nearly the entire hurricane belt drier than average. That would be a relief. At that point, our best shot at a tropical system would be from a low pressure that forms off the Southeast coast. That would be weak (think Fay in 2020). I’ll report on the hurricane forecast when it’s out from Colorado State, which is early April. For now, be cautiously optimistic.
